Terms of Service
These Terms govern your access to and use of Rescriptum. By creating an account you agree to them. If accepting on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind it.
1. The service
Rescriptum provides a hosted platform for drafting, version-controlling, and collaborating on legal documents using Pijul-based patch management, including document storage, amendment tracking, template management, client collaboration, and export to PDF and DOCX.
2. Accounts and eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old. You are responsible for maintaining credential confidentiality. Two-factor authentication is mandatory and cannot be disabled.
3. Subscription and billing
Billed monthly in advance, in euros including VAT. After a 30-day free trial (no card required), continued use requires a paid subscription. Cancel any time from Settings → Subscription; cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period. No partial refunds for unused time. Price changes notified 30 days in advance.
4. Acceptable use
- Do not upload content that infringes third-party intellectual property.
- Do not use the service to store unlawful material.
- Do not reverse-engineer, scrape, or disrupt the service.
- Do not share credentials beyond your licensed seat count.
5. Your data and intellectual property
You retain full ownership of all documents and data. You grant Rescriptum a limited licence to store, process, and display your content solely to provide the service. We do not use your documents to train any AI model. Export all data at any time via Settings → Export. Upon account deletion, documents are erased within 30 days (except where retention is legally required).
6. Confidentiality
Staff will not access your documents without your explicit request or a binding legal obligation. We will notify you of law-enforcement demands unless prohibited by law.
7. Service availability
Target 99.5% monthly uptime. Scheduled maintenance announced 48 hours in advance. We do not guarantee fitness for any particular legal purpose.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Rescriptum is not liable for loss of profits, loss of data caused by your own actions, or indirect damages. Total aggregate liability shall not exceed fees paid in the 3 months preceding the event.
9. Governing law
Governed by French law. Disputes submitted first to mediation; if that fails, competent courts of Paris. Consumer mandatory protections in your country of residence may apply additionally.
10. Changes
30 days' email notice before any material change. If you disagree, cancel before the effective date for a prorated refund of any prepaid period.
